Senator Ben Ayade, the Cross River State governor-elect, has said that he will be the first son of a poor man to govern Cross River State among all those who had taken charge of the affairs of the state and as such, will ensure he improves on the welfare of the people of the state, majority of whom are poor.

Senator Ayade, in Calabar, while receiving his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commissioner in charge of Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, Mrs Thelma Iremiren, said he will create a new agenda that is friendly to the people of Cross River State.

“We shall, with this opportunity afforded us by the people, create a new agenda, an agenda that focuses on the poor by making the means of production easy and affordable to move our people forward,” he said.
