Driver, Conductor Fight Police With Excreta
Some Police officers in
Imo state got the shock of their lives after a commercial bus driver and
his conductor attacked them with excreta when the officials tried to
arrest them for flouting traffic laws.
The
incident, according to Pulseng, occurred at the popular Control Post,
adjacent the Maria Assumpta Catholic Cathedral, Owerri, where the driver
and his conductor used excreta as the weapon of their choice to ward
off arrest.
The
said drama began after a the renegade driver retaliated in kind to a
police officer who had repeatedly slapped him for being rude. This
resulted in a fight with other officers joining in to subdue the driver
and his conductor.
The duo, sensing that they were about to be overpowered then resulted to the use of poopoo bomb which made the officers take to their heels.
According to an eye witness account: “After the policeman gave the driver a slap, the driver retaliated immediately and they began fighting.
The
policeman’s colleagues rushed down to the place and gave the driver and
his conductor severe beating, tearing their clothes in the process,
almost leaving them naked.
The
drama took a different shape when the duo pulled off what remained of
their torn trousers, defecated, scooped the faeces with their hands and
splashed the mess on the faces of some of the policemen.
This
strange act forced every person around the scene, including the
policemen, to scamper for safety, while the battered driver and his
conductor were scavenging for more faeces to further pelt their
attackers with.
As the
confusion continued, the driver and his conductor quickly jumped into
their vehicle and disappeared before other security teams arrived.”
This is not the first time a commercial conductor and a conductor will be employing extreme measures to ward off arrests
Similarly,
in August 2013, a bus driver and his conductor stripped totally naked
at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, to resist arrest and to protect their
vehicle from being towed by the police.
